Suite
Bernadotte, located in the
Manor, has a lovely salon, a tastefully-appointed bedroom, and a large,
modern
bathroom with walk-in shower, double basins, a hairdryer, towel
warmer, fine toiletries and a separate WC room.
The large bedroom is comfortably
furnished
with a queen or twin beds and antiques, and the salon has a sofa, desk
and
chairs for relaxing. Tapestries adorn the golden stone walls
creating a warm and cozy
atmosphere. Just outside the entrance is a private terrace with
views
over the garden.
The history of Jean-Baptiste Bernadotte, a
Marshal in Napoléon's army, is depicted in paintings throughout
the suite and a display of toy soldiers in the bedroom. He was
adopted into the Swedish Royal family and eventually became King
Charles John XIV of Sweden. Bernadotte remains to this day as the
name of the Swedish royal family.
Suite
Fénelon, also in the Manor, is another lovely and
romantic
retreat, also with stone floors, beamed ceilings and golden
walls. The elegant bedroom can be configured with either a queen
or twin beds. Tapestries, quality furnishings and all modern
conveniences make this classic suite perfect for your time in the
Lot. Suite Fénelon houses a mini-museum in memory of
François Salignac de la Mothe-Fénelon, a writer,
theologian and philosopher born in 1651 at Sainte-Mondane in the nearby
Dordogne.
A private terrace just outside the
entrance is secluded and inviting. The en suite bathroom has a
walk-in shower, double basins and a separate WC. All en suite
bathrooms have hair dryers and towel warmers, too.
