Suite
Boniface takes
advantage of the 13th century round towers of the château.
This sunny and cheerful guest room looks south onto the garden.
It
is furnished in Louis Philippe furniture and has polished larchwood
floors
from the 19th-century. There is an extra single bed in the
Louisiana-style
veranda, and a lovely modern en suite bathroom with tub and shower.

With a
warm, southern
aspect, Suite Louis XVI's furnishings, woodwork and wainscot are
all in elegant 18th-century French style. This bright and sunny
suite
with original beamed ceilings is spacious and comfortable, and it opens
onto the garden to the south by way of the Louisiana-style
veranda.
In the connecting 14th-century tower, a room with double bed and
desk
~ adorned with trompe l'oeil painted decoration ~ can
accommodate additional guests.

All of the
guest rooms
and suites at Château de Picomtal are generous in size, allowing
for guests to not only enjoy comfortable beds but ample seating for
reading
and relaxing. Suite Pic de Chabrière at the left and Suite
Mont Guillaume at the right are perfect examples of this with the
added plus of lovely fireplaces and clear light coming through
the
north-facing windows with views over Lake Serre-Ponçon.
These
suites each offer two extra single beds in the adjoining 16th-century
tower
- making them ideal rooms for parents and two children. |

THE ANNEXE
For those
who would
like a self-catering apartment, there is L'Annexe, a small apartment
with
a private entrance in the 18th-century annex. There is a kitchen,
living room area and convertible sofa on the ground floor and a bedroom
and bath on the first floor. It is perfect for a couple with two
children, and of course they have full use of the courtyard and
barbecue
in the summer.
