Château des Monthairons

Although this is another of au Château's larger properties, the family and staff at the 4-star classified Hostellerie du Château des Monthairons is quite intent on treating each guest as someone special and will cater to a client's every need.  (Look for Château des Monthairons in the Michelin Hotel and Restaurant Red Guide for France.)

A beautiful 19th century château with fairytale turrets, Monthairons has much to offer visitors --  from a private beach on the River Meuse to an elegant and renowned restaurant serving such delights as Homard rôti et servi dans un coeur d'artichauts breton et pointes d'asperges vertes (roasted lobster served with hearts of Breton artichokes and green asparagus tips).  And there are no less than 11 choices on the dessert menu!  The continental breakfasts include home-made jams, cheese, juice, yogurt, bread and hot tea or coffee.

The château's 35-acre park partially bordering the wild Meuse, is home to both a Gothic and a Romanesque chapel and a heron center. Walks are delightful, especially along the exquisitely beautiful river's edge.   Inquire about special offers for two nights and two days which include room, welcoming cocktail, breakfasts and dinners for two, admission to a museum and a château site nearby, and possible use of bicycles or canoes.

You will find that Château des Monthairons is lovingly tended and elegantly decorated.  Guest rooms are exceptionally large, finely furnished and baths are en suite.  The four duplex apartments offer a large bed chamber as well as a comfortable salon.  From your first glimpse of this awe-inspiring château to the sad day when you must depart,  each moment you spend at Monthairons will be exceptional --  you will leave with memories of the delicious meals, superior accommodations and  warm and friendly service that are hallmarks of Hostellerie du Château des Monthairons.
