Imagine yourself
relaxing in the amazing Salon Rouge which you will come upon as you enter
Château d'Agel. Sunlight pours in through lovely high windows,
and the original beamed ceilings and stone floors and walls recall a thousand
years of history. An exquisite carpet adds softness and warmth to
this inviting salon.
Tuck yourself away
in this well-stocked library for some time alone with a book or to bring
your travel journal up to date. As with all the common rooms
in the château, the library is comfortable
and cozy. The Persian carpet adds to the calm and quiet of this room.
The
elegant Great Hall on the first floor where five of the guest rooms are
located will allow you to immerse yourself in château life.
You will appreciate the classical French furniture, a magnificent lofty
ceiling with hand-decorated beams and a fireplace adorned in sculpted lions
beneath the crest of the Beauxhostes family ~ the intertwined hands
representing King Philippe le Bel and Jean de Beauxhostes’ success in the
Battle of Furnes in 1270. See enlargement below. This is a room that
will linger in your memory for years to come.
