A tranquility envelopes you as you arrive at Château de Bénéauville in Normandy.  The lush forests surrounding this unique château create an atmosphere of warmth and welcoming ~ nature at its best.  This château is filled with history and the work of artisans dating back to the 16th century where you can experience the best French country life has to offer.

A close-up of one of the towers exemplifies the pristine condition of the château despite the fact that it is nearly 425 years old.  Regional slate, used for the roof, is an enduring material seen throughout many regions of France.  It is perfectly suited for steeply sloped roofs, turrets and towers.  Note the seventeenth and eighteenth century additions of two small pavillons flanking either side of the original château.  Meticulous landscaping and gardens are a perfect complement to the simplicity of the château's design.

The park side of this elegant château is so interesting with towers dotted with oval windows and the steeply pitched ax-shaped roof making it unlike any château we have seen in France.  It has a dramatic presence on the nearly 62 acres of parkland that it oversees.  With splendid height and crisp architectural lines, Château de Bénéauville will surely impress all who visit here.
