A close-up of one
of the towers exemplifies the pristine condition of the château despite
the fact that it is nearly 425 years old. Regional slate, used for
the roof, is an enduring material seen throughout many regions of France.
It is perfectly suited for steeply sloped roofs, turrets and towers.
Note the seventeenth and eighteenth century additions of two small pavillons
flanking either side of the original château. Meticulous landscaping
and gardens are a perfect complement to the simplicity of the château's
design.
