The estateChâteau and Lorenza, the swan
Large expanses of lawn surround the château, with lovely paths for walking and a chance to meet the beautiful swan, Lorenza, on the lake.  This park of fourteen acres was designed by Alexis de Tocqueville's English wife, Mary Motley, and there is a lovely English garden with a lake, lawns and fine specimen trees and shrubbery.

Cluster of PalmsLawns and woodland
A cluster of palm trees remind guests of the pleasant micro climate in this region of Normandy.  A path leads through a pattern of hedges between the palms to the château.  As you explore the estate, you will discover vast expanses of lawns and many wooded areas and clusters of specimen trees that have been here for centuries.

View of the château from the lake

There are many stunning views on the estate such as this one looking over the lake toward the château.  Imagine the peace and tranquility you will enjoy as a guest of the Pavillon at Château de Tocqueville.
