The rear entrance
to this pretty château begins with a grand stairway taking you to
a classic double doorway. The pink brick of the château is
accented with fine architectural details in tuffeau, the white sedimentary
limestone rock found in the Loire Valley.
This stone was the
floor of the sea ninety million years ago and is created by the compression
of sand and fossilized organisms. Easily carved into pleasant forms,
it adds so much to the beauty of this château.
