The name of the manor
is derived from the remains of Medieval stone walls that can be found on
the estate. At one time, this row of secondary protective walls of
Souvigny crossed the property from north to south. Today, the walls
shown in this photo are some of what can still be found at Les Vieux Murs. |

Green is the predominant
color of the estate in the spring and summer months. Fine specimen
trees can be found throughout the five acres and they include maple,
umbrella pine, ginkgobiloba, juniper, tulip trees from Virginia, Sequoia,
American walnut, birch, ash, and many others. In the autumn,
the estate is a riot of yellows, golds, oranges and reds. |
